Ernst Torner HIS-STORY
>1934 BORN Hamburg, Germany eldest of 5, 4 surviving siblings Kurt, Inge & Dieter
>met Ursula Knabke at a tea dance in Hamburg, Germany
>Ernst receives Master Butcher Degree
>1957 Ursula emigrates to Toronto, Canada
>1957- Ernst secretly studies 2.5 years toward a law degree after-hours
>1958-59 Ernst visits Ursula 1x in Toronto travels by ship across the Atlantic, upon return to Germany sends daily love letter for 1 year
>Ursula visits Ernst 1x in Hamburg along with introduction to the Torner family
>1959 Ernst emigrates to Toronto, Canada
>1960 March 15 Ernst & Ursula marry
>Ernst’s 2.5 years law studies accepted toward 1 year Chartered Accountant degree
with Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA)
>1964 only son Brian born Toronto, Canada
>1965 Ernst & Ursula become Canadian citizens, establish Ernst Torner CA together
Ursula as book-keeper & 110WPM-secretary et al
>ET CA grows to include partner & 10 employees @ 1620 Albion Road after moving out of personal residence of the Torners
>1992 down-size of CA firm to mom, dad & sis
and move to 3141 Wharton Way, Mississauga
purchase of the Continental Dance Club
>1993 son Brian Canadian professional ShowDance & Latin rep moves to Duesseldorf, Germany
>Ursula with Bianca and Ernst assume managerial duties to date
>2002-2011 Brian is engaged with television, film, performing, adjudicating, training worldwide
>2012 establishment of www.thecontinentaldanceclub.com by son Brian with Robert Tang of DanceScape with family blessing
>welcome to the Continental Dance Club. Meet the eldest of the Torner family – now BOTH still vital working octogenarians (!!) weekly Monday thru Thursday operating ET CA in its 50th year next season 10AM-5PM throughout the year.
